Análisis de los efectos del aumento del salario mínimo sobre el empleo de la economía española
Abstract
El objetivo del artículo consiste en estimar el efecto de los aumentos en el salario mínimo interprofesional sobre el empleo de los trabajadores españoles. Utilizando datos agregados de la Encuesta de Población Activa, se tratará de calcular la elasticidad de respuesta de la tasa de empleo con respecto a los cambios del índice de Kaitz para diversos colectivos. Además, también se tratará de analizar el efecto de los cambios en el índice de Kaitz sobre el nivel empleo de las empresas españolas a partir de los microdatos de la Encuesta de Coyuntura Laboral. Los resultados muestran la existencia de un efecto negativo muy pequeño del índice de Kaitz sobre los niveles de empleo de las empresas y de un efecto nulo sobre la tasa de empleo, incluso en el caso de los adolescentes.
